Megan Folland is Vice President, Advancement for Abode Communities, a nonprofit affordable housing and social service provider. With nearly 25 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, and communications, she has developed a multitude of strategic initiatives to advance missions; boost impact, visibility, reputation, and brand; and advance the long-term financial health and operational sustainability for nonprofit organizations.
Folland’s experience includes expanding Abode Communities’ philanthropic investment by 40% to more than $3.5 million over a three-year period; piloting the organization’s individual donor program; and implementing the Abode Communities’ first in-house capital campaign resulting in nearly $3.0 million in added charitable investment. She is particularly versed in overseeing highly competitive grant pursuits, storytelling, and engaging stakeholders to advance housing and social equity for all Californians. As lead marketer, Folland's most notable accomplishments at Abode Communities include directing the strategic marketing effort for the acquisition of more than 1,800 affordable homes; creating a first-of-its kind, nationally-recognized virtual social service platform in response to the COVID-19 pandemic; and boosting media touches to nearly 11 million people, translated to some $1.07 million in publicity in 2023. She was also bestowed a Marketing Communications Award for Special Event Marketing by the Society of Marketing Professional Services Los Angeles Chapter for the execution of “A Journey of Hope,” Abode Communities' 50th Anniversary campaign and celebration.
Folland earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Marketing Management from Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware.
